Hello and welcome to the Goddesstrology podcast for the month of June! We are well into the Season of Gemini at the start of June and this month is looking relatively calm, for the most part. The new moon in Gemini on May 25 set the tone for the curious minded to get out and explore! If you haven’t taken a road trip yet, what are you waiting for? For Mercury’s sake, take a trip to your local library or take your kindle to the beach. ASTEROID GODDESSES The function of the asteroids in astrology is to connect our inner landscape to the world at large -- a transpersonal hookup, of sorts. Where we find the asteroids in our charts tells us where and how to share our inner knowings and relate with the world. They facilitate transformation between personal awareness into the social, which ultimately contributes and helps evolve the collective awareness. In other words, this is what we know on a deeply personal level, how we share our personal wisdom with the world, and what the collective stands to benefit in the process. And in her infinity, this is a personal gain, too, as we make space for growth whenever we engage authentically...share parts of the self authentically with the world. Ceres in Gemini- Getting Our Needs Met Through Communication The Great Mother, who nurtures her children and provides for their every need. in this sign, Ceres ensures that our needs are being met through communication. Gemini is where we learn that communication is a two way exchange. It requires both the mode of expression, and of receiving, or Listening. The Ceres transit through Gemini helps us to see that talking and sharing of ideas and a healthy debate foster growth. It takes a certain kind of maturity to communicate well with others, and when we are effective communicators, we can get our needs met and also help others do the same. Athena in Aries and 6/27→ Taurus-- Protecting the Life Force Energy + The Environment The Daughter, in Aries, sees what needs to be done and makes it happen. Aries is where we assert ourselves, make ourselves known to the world, it is the “I AM” presence. Athena is the far-seeing strategist and in this sign, she shows us the highest and best uses of our vital life force energy. Also in Aries, there is an emphasis on political issues, protecting the vulnerable through the means of law and justice. Looking ahead to her ingress into Taurus, Pallas Athena turns her sights to protecting the environment, especially through political, law or justice means. Vesta in Leo- Focus on the Authentic Creative Expression In ancient Rome, Vestal Virgins were priestesses in devotion to the Goddess Vesta. The rule of the day was that women were to be married by a certain age, could not walk about without a male escort, and generally needed a man in order to get by in life. But the Priestesses were honored for their ability to move about freely. Virgin, in this sense --it’s original sense-- meant that the Priestesses were women who needed no man to complete them. Of course, the concept of the word virgin has been distorted by history and today is often used to indicate sexual purity. Vesta, the Sister, the Temple Priestess who stokes the inner flame is strong in the fiery sign of Leo. Vesta represents the autonomy of being and in the sign of Leo, her singular focus is to zero in on our creative self-expression without the need for validation or permission by others. Juno Retrograde in Capricorn-- Re-Evaluating Social Status + the Politics of Our Relationships: In Goddesstrology, Juno represents the compromises we make for the benefit of the relationship-- and specifically, the feminine relation to the masculine. With this transit, we continue to see a re-negotiation and a re assertion of women’s rights on the global scale. Where women are rising up to run for political office because they see how the masculine system is failing us. Where women are coming together in unity to say, “we are not going back!” Juno Retrograde conjunct Pluto in the sign of Capricorn -- re-evaluating social status, our politics of partnerships, the foundations of relations. Juno is an interesting archetype because, due to mythic inversion, we hold the notion that she is the jealous wife of Zeus/ Jupiter, who took out her rage for his transgressions on the women whom he slept with. But the truth is that she is the patron of feminine connections, bringing women together. In this sign, this transit, she certainly has been felt in the political arena, what with the women’s march and the ways women are coming together to protest the traditional patriarchal systems we’ve constructed. Transits & Stations: 6/4: Mars → Cancer 6/6: Venus → Taurus 6/6: Mercury → Gemini 6/9: Jupiter D/ 13* Libra 6/16: Neptune Rx/ 14 * Pisces 6/21: Sun → Cancer 6/21: Mercury → Cancer ADDRESSING THE TOXIC MASCULINE Mars is just finishing up its transit through Gemini and on June 4, will enter the sign of Cancer where he’ll be for 7 weeks. Traditional astrology associates this transit with domestic disputes, and at the very least aggressive Mars is quite uncomfortable in the mothering sign of Cancer. In our current polarized communities, there seems to be a rift between the male ego and the mother. Can toxic masculinity be healed? Can the masculine accept the healing of the mother without her being so suffocating?
